Aligned with GDPR and Apple App Store requirements
Overview
SleepOz (“app”, “we”) provides sleep tracking and snoring analysis. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Data We Collect
Account: email, display name (optional), auth session.
Sleep sessions: start/end time, duration, quality score, stage estimates, snore count.
Sound events (metadata): event type, intensity, timestamp — not raw audio.
App preferences: language, dark mode, alarm, notifications.
Permission flags: microphone and notification grant status.
Data We Do Not Collect
Raw overnight audio is never uploaded to our servers or Supabase Storage.
Location data is not collected.
No advertising IDs or third-party ad tracking.
The app is not directed at children under 13; we do not knowingly collect children’s data.
Microphone Usage
The microphone is used only when you start an active sleep session via “Start Sleep”.
Audio is analyzed on-device in real time to detect snoring and similar events.
No microphone access outside active sessions you initiate.
System permission dialogs are shown per App Store / Play Store guidelines.
Apple Health (HealthKit)
On iOS, SleepOz optionally uses the Apple HealthKit API.
When enabled under Settings > Apple Health (HealthKit), start and end times from completed sleep sessions are written to the Apple Health app as sleep analysis.
We do not read other health data through HealthKit; only sleep duration is shared.
This feature is optional; no HealthKit data is written when it is turned off.
Android Health Connect
On Android, SleepOz can optionally write sleep duration to Health Connect (requires a dev client/build with the native module).
When enabled under Settings > Health Connect, start and end times from completed sessions are written.
Raw audio and event recordings are not sent to Health Connect.
No Health Connect data is written when the feature is off.
Local Audio Recordings
Full-night recordings stay on your phone in the app sandbox (sleep-recordings/ folder).
View the file path in-app and delete recordings individually or in bulk.
Cloud file storage (Storage) is not used.
How We Use Data
Provide sleep sessions, summaries, and statistics.
Smart alarm and bedtime reminder notifications.
Account management and authentication.
Security, debugging, and service quality (anonymized technical logs).
Data Retention
Cloud account data is kept while your account is active.
Deleting your account removes associated cloud data.
Local audio stays on device until you delete it or uninstall the app.
Security
Cloud traffic uses TLS (HTTPS).
Auth tokens stored in secure device storage.
Raw audio never leaves your device.
Your Rights
You may access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing.
Delete your account in-app (Settings > Delete Account).

Data Export
Export account and sleep metadata as JSON under Settings > Data.
Audio files are not included in JSON export.
Policy Changes
We may update this policy; material changes will be announced in-app or on this site.
